Preventative Hard Disk Upgrade:
If you would like to ensure that your PC will keep on running we recommend that you replace your Hard Disk (HD) The HD is the one piece of hardware that is the most costly should it fail.

Reason:
When the HD fails you have to buy a new HD which in itself is not that expensive.
But you will also have to:
- retrieve your data from a backup,
- Install your OS again
- Setup your Internet
- Setup your Email
- Recreate your Favorites/Bookmarks
- Recreate your Profile
- Apply all the patches to your OS
- Install all your Software again (Do you still know where all those CD's are :) )
- Download updates
- ......
Solution:
We recommend that you clone/mirror your HD. This means that you make a full copy of it onto another HD. Now that you have made that copy you can replace the old one and have a new HD in your PC. We have found that Norton's Ghost works nicely.
This should take you no longer then 2 - 3 hrs. Now compare that with the total time to FULLY reinstall your computer.
PS.: Cloning/Mirroring also is a great way of making a backup of your current system. Use it before you make any major changes to your PC. You will not regret it.
